VIZIO Prices 8-inch Tablet at $299

Vizio promises to do to tablet pricing what it did with TV pricing with the shipment of its 8-inch Wi-Fi Android tablet at a suggested $329 and expected everyday $299.

Vizio's 8-inch Wi-Fi tablet gets a $299 price tag.

The device, the company's first tablet, is available at is now available at Sam's Club, Walmart, Costco, Amazon and other retailers.

Today's prices on the on-line stores of Walmart, Costco, Sam's Club, and Amazon range from $289.87 from Sam's to $298 from Amazon and Walmart.

The price is lower than expected. Various online reports previously showed a Walmart display showing a price of $349 for the tablet.
