VIZIO Delivers its First Sound Platform For Use with HDTVs

VIZIO, best known for its HDTVs but now also billing itself as “America’s #1 Sound Bar company,” today launched the $249.99 VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand. Like an increasing number of products emerging in the home audio space, this is less a sound bar and more a sound platform, designed to serve as a physical base for a flat-panel TVs of up to 55 inches and 60 pounds, while it pumps out way better sound than the TV could on its own, including virtual surround.
