People throw out a lot of words like "mid-range" to describe many TVs that cost less than $1,000, but Vizio's P Series is just about as nice as it gets outside an OLED TV (8/10, WIRED Recommends). The blacks are incredibly deep, and it has a full array of LED backlights that can locally dim and brighten areas of the screen to make something like a TIE Fighter pop just that much more in the depths of space. It's a wonderful TV, and the built-in Chromecast is a bonus.
